Bellydancing (sucks!)

I bought a dvd off Amazon called Luscious - The Belly Dance Workout for Beginners. Yeah, right! Beginners my tofuti! This is hard. Not physically hard. Just hard to make your body do the things they want you to do. Takes concentration too.

Not a rhythm thing either Terri! "Oh I dance to Shakira. I could do it. Blah, blah, blah!" I want to videotape you doing this. I guarantee I will laugh my butt off!

I think I can do it with practice. I look very silly and if my husband even thinks he is going to watch me, I got news for him - not gonna happen! At least not for awhile.

It is fun though. Hard but fun. If you are thinking about getting a bellydance instruction dvd, I say go for it. I don't know that I recommend this one because I don't have anything to compare it to.

All I know is I am going to come off this weight. I have gained so much in the last year and I'm tired of it. My stress is way down (I hope) and it's time! It comes off rather quickly when I decide to lose it. I am worried though that as I get into my 40's, it won't come off at all.

I am keeping a weight loss blog that is just for me basically. I don't remember to write on it very often. So, now I have two blogs to neglect. Yay me!!

Oh, if you haven't watched Dr. Oz then check him out. Pretty cool tips and health stuff.

And if you haven't looked at e-mealz.com lately, they have a vegetarian menu and low-fat menus to choose from also.

Ta-ta for now. Gotta go shake my groove thing. Yeah, yeah!!

Food!! Glorious Food!!

I have kind of run out of things to write about. Not sure if I'm bored or just boring. I hope I'm not boring...honey, am I boring? Tell me the truth...I can handle it. YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!! What's that from, huh?

I am really trying not to gorge my face lately. It is sooooo hard!! I love food!! I blame my husband. You hear that husband? It's all your fault!

When I was a child I don't remember much about what my mom cooked for us, until around the age of 10 or so. When my parents divorced, we lived off McDonalds!! Lived!! I can remember when it opened in my small town. I went, along with Terri and my brothers to the Grand Opening. Ronald was there with all his friends. It was great!! For the next couple of years, Happy Meals were the go-to meal.

Then....duhn duhn duuuhhnn....my mom married my step-dad. He was a big man. He liked to eat. He liked to eat a lot. We stopped eating out except for when we went on trips and vacations. Home cooked meals were on the menu for us then. I learned to like a variety of different foods. I credit my dad for making me eat right (except when he cooked the steaks rare or made me eat an apple core, but that's another story).

As I got older, I cooked but it was the same ol' same ol'. My first husband didn't like anything much. He could have eaten fish sticks, chicken chunks and french fries for every meal. Seriously! I would try something new only to be shot down.

Then I wised up, divorced him (we had bigger issues than the food thing obviously), and remarried. Boy did I ever!!

The man I married this time, how should I put it....he's freakin' awesome!! He can cook, he can eat, he loves to try new foods (which he has learned to not try on special holidays, again another story...).

I hated, loathed and despised onions until I was pregnant with Davy. I can't get enough now. And garlic!! I love garlic! I would make out with garlic and onions, I love them so much.

There is so much David had introduced to me in ways I eat. Like dill pickle slices with a BBQ sandwich. THE best thing ever! And I hate pickles. But now I can't eat BBQ without 'em. Try it for yourself. Try them you will see. Try them here or there. Try them anywhere. Try them, try them if you dare. Whew.....started spinning out of control there for a sec.

Yesterday I was going to make some scrambled eggs with Spanish rice in them. David says to add some chopped jalapeno to it. I'm thinking yeah right. I hate peppers! No way am I going to do that. But I did....and it was great. I did it again today, and bought more jalapeno peppers at the Walmart so I can make more and more and more:)

And dark chocolate, don't get me started....I now buy the 88% dark in the health food section. The darker the better. Milk choc is nasty to me now. Nasty I tell you!

Oh, and now I eat my steaks rarer than David. I used to have them like shoe leather. Then tried a bite of his medium done steak one night. Well, the rest is history. I eat them med-rare now. Yummy! This is huge in case you don't know. I one time cried over prime rib at Outback because it was so pink and bloody looking. Now I am much much wiser:D

These are just a few of my favorite foods. I love how they taste...I just don't like how they look around my thighs! Maybe I can find that Suzanne Somers thigh thingy at a yard sale. Yeah, that's the ticket:)

1st Halloween at New Place

We have 2 huge costume boxes, things we have collected, picked up in thrift stores or at yard sales. There is quite the collection of outfits to choose from. Every year the kids dig through the boxes to pick out what they will be that year for Halloween.

This year Davy chose to be a pirate and Sophie went with a genie. Sophie had a little genie lamp but we forgot it. They looked awesome.

David drove through Dickson early yesterday to scope out the best neighborhoods that were decorated and churches doing trunk or treat. We bought plain bags at the dollar tree and colored them.

They had a great night and are still eating lots of candy (til I throw it out). Sophie stepped in a mudhole at one point and was ready to be done. Thankfully Daddy had some wipes in the car and made it all better for her:)

Matt walked from house to house with them and David said he was a really good big brother. He didn't complain or anything.

And of course, we didn't have any spooks at our house. For the last 14 years, I think we have had maybe 10 or 15 at the most. I pretty much figured that I wouldn't have any visitors out here for sure.

And yes, I am the dork that took the pictures with the dump truck in them. I guess I was in a hurry and not paying attention. I hate it when that happens.
